Another Woman
My wife left me for another woman.
At first I was so furious I wanted to hurt her.
I felt so stupid. What kind of a man gets left for another woman. Maybe if had been a younger, smarter, richer man…but another woman? What kind of man is that?
She said she’d never known. She said it’s not personal. She said it’s just who she is now.
Not personal? It can’t get any more personal.
I thought maybe if I had made her more happy; maybe if I’d been more successful, maybe if I loved her more…it wouldn’t have happened.
She said it’s none of that.
I still don’t believe her.
