Hi, I’m Lisa Bloom.
My goal is to empower you to succeed in your business by finding and leveraging your own powerfully compelling story.
And when I say ‘succeed’, I mean to finally be able to—
- articulate what you do in a way that attracts your ideal clients,
- get clear and confident about how your business helps others,
- achieve what you’re really here to do in the world.
Storytelling is the key to engaging, inspiring, and empowering the people you serve – not to mention making more sales and growing your business.
If you’re not telling your authentic, compelling story, you are not sharing your true purpose with your clients or yourself…and life is too short for that!
If you find yourself drawn into people’s real stories, or you love ‘once upon a time’ type stories, and you want to add that kind of magic into your business, then you’re in the right spot!
Because stories ARE magic. But I’m not talking about kid’s story-time kind of magic. I’m talking about the magic of connecting the gifts you have to the people you want to serve in a real and true way.
I’m talking about the magic of a business that supplies you with the time, money and freedom to create everything you dream of.
And I mean everything!
The Story
I grew up in Ireland, surrounded by beautiful countryside (it really is greener than anywhere else!). I was raised with amazing stories of pixies and leprechauns, plus all the warmth of traditional Jewish practice, where the mystical and the mundane overlap in the daily routine (not to mention chicken soup and kugel). I grew up listening to – and telling – stories full of wonder and magic that expressed deep truths.
I left the green pastures of Ireland at 18 to study in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, learning the language and strangely new but familiar culture of Israel. I wanted to see the world, so, degree in hand (Film & Television and English Literature – more stories), I traveled to Italy, the Scottish Highlands, and the Caribbean Islands, working as waitress, stable-girl, bartender and photographer.
Later I worked for USAID, on development programs in the West Bank and Gaza. I volunteered in the Rape Crisis Center, completed a Boston University MBA, and married an amazing man named Ilan.
At first, I entered the business world in Human Resources. It seemed the natural extension of my love for the human experience, and the way our stories interweave. But it didn’t take long until I realized that it was teaching that truly called to me – seeing the spark of understanding in the eyes of the people I was working with when they learned something new and valuable was almost intoxicating. I had to have more of it.
Once I realized my passion for adult learning, I turned my journey toward Training & Development Management in large multinational organizations. I filled those next years helping others as a corporate trainer. I listened to people’s stories in the classrooms, and helped them transform their lived experience into lessons that would shape their businesses and their teams.
My story continues through formal Coaching Training, ICF accreditation and the birth of Story Coach. Now, I help entrepreneurs de-stress their marketing by finding their own powerful story. So they can inspire their clients and customers and build their business with confidence.
My book The Story Advantage: Unleash the Power of Storytelling to Engage, Inspire, and Influence was published in December 2020.
Today, I’m honored and delighted to empower people and businesses world-wide with my Story Coaching programs, as well as with consulting, workshops, and keynote speeches.
Check in with my blog to see how the story continues!
